Taekwon!

A brief introduction to what we do

Taekwon-Do is a martial art, and so we think the best introduction would be to a demonstration of really good Taekwon-Do.

Here is Oliver Williams (2nd) degree, performing pattern Choong-Moo Tul, our bleck belt pattern.

Why train with EIAT?

Everyone trains for their own reasons, and you may find your reasons for training change over time. Some reasons why you may decide to join us are:

Improved fitness: excercise is good for you and a Taekwon-Do class is great motivation to get moving.

Self-defence: Taekwon-Do is an effective self-defence martial art can keep you safe in dangerous situations.

Improved condidence: As your skills grow, you'll find you want to try harder, and you will eblieve in yourself more.

A sense of achievement: Learning new techniques and climbing belts is something to be proud of.

For relaxation: The meditative effect of concentrating on your movements is well-deocumented, and can bring you peace.

It's fun: Classes and training are enjoyable, you don't need a reason to have a good time.

Getting Started

To get started, all you need is a good attitude.

For your first few lessons, wear loose fitting clothes which give you plenty of mobility, T-Shirt and jogging-bottoms will be fine.

You will only need to buy one of the suits (called a dobok), protective pads and a staff if you decide to stay. We ask you buy a white dobok. black-belts may wear a black dobok or a dobok with black trim.

Our training hall (called a dojang) has toilets for those wishing to change upon arrival.
